National Drive it Day

23apr10:0018:00National Drive it DayIn response to members’ feedback, we have a longer run to the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum in Calne, Wiltshire arranged for Drive it Day. The museum is highly recommended with 100+ exhibits, the majority being cars from the 1920s onwards and also a collection of motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles. There are also interesting motoring memorabilia, a model lorry collection and a reconstructed 1930s style garage complete with vehicles. We should depart by 10AM from the Winchester Park and Ride (South) SO21 2FG, we have a 61 mile route (66 miles including a small comfort break detour). The route, kindly provided by David Small, uses quieter roads and passes through a number of picturesque towns and villages including Hurstbourne Priors, Ludgershall and Marlborough. The museum does not have a cafe so a picnic is recommended but there is a good pub just across the road, So that we can keep track of numbers, please let John Stoodley know if you intend to go.
